A casual accident that turned into a passionate hobby

Greetings everybody! This is Suresh from Chennai.
I am a big fan of the scaled diecast models of cars. Like everybody, it all started with an innocent gift in childhood. The earliest times, when hot wheels ever arrived in India. I was too young back then to note the model and when I grew up enough, i'd lost that car. It was a sleek metallic blue muscle car with beautiful black walls.

Some years later, I'd sifted through collecting GI Joes for sometime sold at 48 bucks per piece, till their sales came to an abrupt stop in India.. then i moved on to collect Justice League figurines until they met the same fate and years later.. i casually happened to hit on the hot wheels section of my local store and picked up a Bugatti Veyron, knowing what a cool car it was.. then some more accidental pickups involved a white Lamborghini Murcielago and a black Ferrari 250 GTO.

Finally in 2011, on a day when I was feeling low, I treated myself and picked my first ever Ferrari 5 pack that has a white Enzo Ferrari, a black 156 sharknose and ever since then, continuing with my previous tradition I've been collecting Ferraris and Lamborghinis. Very recently I added porsches, minis, mustangs and beetles to my wishlist.

So there goes the story of how a casual accident sparked a passionate hobby that kinda became a second identity to me. More posts to follow..Happy collecting!!

Hot Wheels LaFerrari

I wanted my First post on the blog to be significant and after several considerations chose to post on the Hot Wheels LaFerrari which is part of the 2014 Mainline, New models HW City-Speed Team .

The LaFerrari was the last new model casting from Ferrari as Mattel had lost the license and was manufactured for one year alone.

This makes it one of the rarest Ferraris which Hot Wheels had produced and the last  new Ferrari casting before license expiry.

 First Edition in Rosso red.

Welome to Diecast Zone Chennai

Hi everyone I am Bernard Rakesh and am starting this blog about collecting scale model  diecast vehicles. Like every other kid in his childhood, I was fascinated by toy cars and that's when  this passion of collecting scale model diecast cars started.I gave up my older collection  several  years ago but kept some with me for Nostalgic reasons. When I started to work, I felt there was  something missing and a void that was getting bigger everyday because I gave up my collection.

Eventually I started to collect again from 2011 and have a comprehensive collection now. I  am glad to blog about collecting diecast in the scales from 1:55 to 1:87 and have started this  community driven blog for fellow collectors who share the same passion as myself who are from or residing in  Chennai/Tamilnadu.

newer models can get  them easily and keep ourselves updated.
